"Be A Fan" Torch Run
The Be a Fan Torch Run for Special Olympics Pennsylvania presented by Sheetz is a segmented non-competitive run (approx. 150 miles run) with 53 segments ranging from a 2.5 mile to 4 miles. This inspiring journey kicks off on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 9:00 AM from Pittsburgh’s North Shore, weaving through Western and Central Pennsylvania before arriving at Penn State University on May 15, the host site of the 2025 Summer Games. Led by law enforcement officers from across the region, the Torch Run unites communities in support of Special Olympics athletes and the power of inclusion. This event also serves as a tribute to fallen officers across the state, honoring their memory along the way. The run will officially conclude when the Flame of Hope ignites the Summer Games Opening Ceremonies cauldron, symbolizing the start of an unforgettable celebration of courage, determination, and sportsmanship.
If you would like to support our amazing LETR partners as they run to raise awareness for nearly 13,000 athletes across the state of Pennsylvania, you can do so here!
