Three Rivers Region sends two Unified bocce teams to States!

Beaver Falls, PA – Special Olympics Pennsylvania bocce players took to competition on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Geneva College for the inaugural Three Rivers Region Unified Champion Schools (UCS) Bocce Championship, presented by Kia America.

The Three Rivers Region Regional Unified Bocce Tournament showcased the top 10 indoor bocce teams, which competed for a regional championship and an opportunity to advance to the state-level championship in Hershey, PA. 

Two teams (one regional champion and one state qualifier) advances to the state championship after an impressive performance at Metheny Fieldhouse on Geneva's campus. Ellwood City and Chartiers Valley High Schools dominated their competition to advance. 

More than 100 athletes, partners, coaches and volunteers participated representing the Three Rivers Region of Central Valley, Beaver Area, Grove City, Ellwood City (Lincoln), Bethel Park, South Park, Chartiers Valley, Gateway, Pine-Richland and Shaler Area school districts.
