Special Olympics Pennsylvania to Host more than 300 Athletes for the 2025 North America Golf Championship from August 25-28

(Fayetteville, Pennsylvania) – Special Olympics Pennsylvania is thrilled to welcome more than 300 athletes and Unified partners from around the U.S. and Canada for a competition like no other: the 2025 Special Olympics North America Golf Championship.
Held in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania and hosted by Special Olympics North America with support from Penn National Golf Club, Special Olympics Pennsylvania, Golf Association of Philadelphia, WellSpan Health, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Penn State Mont Alto, Champion Teamwear, Coca Cola, PGA TOUR, Topgolf, Abound Health, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Knights of Columbus, Arby's, Wawa, Penske, Columbia Gas and the Law Enforcement Torch Run, this four-day event features competitors from 22 Special Olympics Programs in the United States and Canada.
“Special Olympics Pennsylvania is honored to be bringing this prestigious competition and athletes from all over North America to our state,” said Matt Aaron, President & CEO, Special Olympics Pennsylvania. “Events like these allow us to showcase the power of sports and inclusion.”
Pennsylvania will send 21 delegation members to the championship, including 10 coaches. Additionally, Special Olympics Pennsylvania is hosting its own golf state championship in conjunction with the National event and more than 80 golfers and coaches will be heading to Penn National to compete in that event.
Competition takes place August 25-28 with awards on August 27 and 28. Delegations will join in an exciting Opening Ceremony on August 25. Competition will be offered in traditional and Unified Sports® team formats. Special Olympics Unified Sports® brings individuals with and without intellectual disabilities together on the same team. Free health screenings for athletes and Unified partners will be available with Fit Feet (podiatry screenings) being offered on Tuesday, August 26.
