Special Olympics Pennsylvania Team Area M held its 41st annual ski racing competition on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Roundtop Mountain Resort, Lewisberry, PA. This event was the local selection for Winter Games, the statewide competition held at Seven Springs Mountain Resort (www.7springs.com) on February 11-13, 2025.

Opening Ceremonies begins at the base of Fanny Hill at 10:15 A.M. Music was provided by Roundtop Mountain Resort, and Ted McDowell, General Manager of the resort MC'd the event. Michael Schroder, a member of Area M’s Development Team skied the American Flag down Fanny Hill. Ricky Eutzy, a member of the USA 2022 World Games Team and Jesse Rohrer, a member of the USA 2025 World Games Team carried the Special Olympics banner down the slope. Debbie Dempsey, a member of Team USA 2005 World Game skied the Special Olympics torch down the slope. Brandon Stanley, Area M’s Most Improved Athlete of the Year led the contingency in the Athlete’s Oath.

Opening Ceremonies was followed by modified slalom courses on upper and lower Fanny Hill and in the Discovery Area. Awards and Closing Ceremonies began at 12:15 PM on the patio in front of the Children’s Learning Center.
