“My earliest memories are talking at Penn State, Villanova and Slippery Rock. I’m a Global Messenger. They gave me a paper and they let me emcee. It made me feel good. Especially at Penn State because they gave me the microphone and they just let me go. I had the whole crowd going. And I got to dance with the football players. I wanted to do it so I could talk to others about Special Olympics and getting volunteers. … I do swimming, track, bowling and soccer. And snowshoeing. My favorite is swimming and last year we won the gold in soccer. Special Olympics is a wonderful program. The people are awesome…. I’m originally from Riverside, California. I moved here when I was 19. I don’t like it here. It’s too cold. But I like Special Olympics here. … I work at my old school, it’s called New Horizon School. I’m a sub aide. I help the teachers and I go to a day program called, ‘Cares.’ I help the kids out with their homework and other things like that.”
