What is the Law Enforcement Torch Run?

The World's Largest Grassroots Fundraiser for Special Olympics

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is a global movement that unites law enforcement officers from around the world to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics athletes. Established in 1981 by Wichita Police Chief Richard LaMunyon, LETR has grown into the largest grassroots fundraiser for Special Olympics.

The Torch Run efforts to raise funds and awareness, include: proudly carrying the “Flame of Hope,” collecting corporate sponsorships, coordinating third party events, and hosting unique fundraising events such the Polar Plunge, Beaver Stadium Run, Torch Runs and other fundraising events.
