UNcathlon 2021: Show Your Support!

The 5th annual UNcathlon to benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) is a one of a kind team challenge event that unleashes the transformative power of teamwork! The event is much like a decathlon, but with 11 events as opposed to 10. The UNcathlon embodies the daily goal of SOPA: inclusion & acceptance through sport!   The event will be UNified, UNconventional & UNforgettable!

The event will take place on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Peters Township High School, located at 121 Rolling Hills Dr., McMurray, PA.  We have ONLY accepted 16 teams this year for the 2021 UNcathlon event.

Our participants will be challenged both physically and mentally; and will be tasked with the additional challenge of raising funds in support of nearly 16,000 athletes.

The day of the event, participants will take part in 10 physical trials that will test speed, strength and endurance.


 

Virtual Local Program Participation: Plank

For those who can't join us in-person in September, the Virtual UNcathlon is BACK for the second year in a row. This year's Virtual UNcathlon is a 30 day fitness & fundraising challenge that features one exercise, practiced daily. This year's exercise is the Plank! For the month of September, the goal is to practice Plank daily-to ensure proper form and increase the time the participant is able to hold Plank position. The Plank is an awesome exercise to strengthen and tone all of your major muscle groups! When you join us for this 30 day fitness & fundraising challenge, you will see an improvement in your physical health; AND you will have an opportunity to fundraise for YOUR Special Olympics PA Local Program.
