Register Today: Take the PA Polar Pop!
Are you BRAVE enough to take the PA Polar Pop?! Registration is now open for Special Olympics Pennsylvania’s first-ever “Burrr-tual” (Virtual) Polar Plunge challenge!
Due to the continued increase of COVID-19 cases, Pennsylvania’s highly anticipated Polar Plunge has shifted to an all-virtual event for the 2021 season. But, while the format has changed, the need for your support remains the same – helping to provide inclusive sports, health and school programs for nearly 20,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities.
What is the PA Polar Pop?
We are excited to offer a new safe, at-home challenge. Participants will still register online, commit to raise $50 or more in support of our life-changing programs, do a cold water challenge, and earn cool gear along the way. But, instead of plunging into icy cold waters in a traditional fashion, participants will pop a cold water balloon over their head and challenge five people (friends, family members or co-workers) to do the same. Click here to learn more.
A Virtual Plunge Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 27th; so, be sure to post photos or video of your Polar Pop challenge from February 1st – 26th on social media using #PAPolarPop or #FreezinForAReason for the chance to be featured during the celebration and on our social platforms.
Proceeds raised go to help provide year round sports training and competition for thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities. Your contribution and involvement helps athletes achieve their goals, live healthier lives, and have a sense of inclusion in the community.
