On February 14, 2020, our very own Special Olympics Pennsylvania – Beaver County athlete Israel “Izzy” Scilabba took to the court at Chicago's United Center with 11 other Special Olympics athletes and 9 players and legends from the NBA and WNBA for the 9th annual NBA Cares Special Olympics Unified Sports® Basketball Game!

In a thrilling 44-43 victory for the East All-Stars at the United Center, Izzy made significant contributions to the winning effort.

His Final Stats: 8 PTS (4-6, 0-1), 5 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL, 3 TO

For the majority of his minutes, Izzy ran the point and displayed an array of skills, including fantastic handles and breakaway speed. It was an honor to watch him — and all the other Special Olympics athletes and WNBA/NBA players — compete on the biggest stage!

The Unified Game took place prior to the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game presented by Ruffles at Wintrust Arena and was streamed live on the NBA’s official Facebook page. Special Olympics International also received a $4,000 donation for every four-point shot made from behind the Ruffles Four-Point Ridge Line during the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, with a minimum donation of $40,000.
