New Local Program Managers

New Managers 2019

Congratulations are in order for our new local program managers!

During Leadership Conference weekend, held from August 16 – 18, 2019 at the Penn Stater in State College, PA, eight volunteers went through new manager training. (Pictured from left to right): Jim Binz (Western Field Director), Edith Turcotte (Mercer County), Rebecca Roof (Bradford/Sullivan Counties), Lisa Cooper (Carbon County), Michelle Jordan (Armstrong/Indiana Counties), Sandra Wazeter (Luzerne County), Marissa Mangie (Beaver County), Michelle Baranowske (Franklin County), Gina Reid (Senior Field Director), Catya Bookhamer (Fulton County), Kristen Lenig (Central Field Director).

As new managers, they have the responsibility of making sure that the Special Olympics mission is understood by all volunteers within their program and incorporated into all program elements. They also oversee program administration, maintain a full complement of qualified and committed volunteers, ensure that the program is represented at scheduled conferences, meetings, and trainings, adhere to reporting requirements, and so much more!

Volunteers are the backbone of Special Olympics Pennsylvania. We could not exist without the leadership of our dedicated program managers and management team members. The time, energy and enthusiasm of volunteers fuel our movement and make our athletes’ dreams a reality.
